WARRANTY & SERVICE
How long is the warranty?
Luminox watches come with a 2-year international warranty from the date of purchase. The warranty card must be presented when the watch is submitted for servicing.
For repairs or servicing, please visit Warranty & Repair Service for details of your nearest authorized Luminox service centre.
What does the warranty cover?
Luminox watches are covered by a 2-year international warranty against manufacturing defects from the date of purchase from an authorized Luminox retailer.
The warranty does not cover:
1. Battery, case, crystal, strap or bracelet, winding stem or crown.
2. Damage resulting from normal wear and tear, extreme use, accidents, improper handling, negligence, abuse, or unauthorized servicing.
3. Water damage unless marked “water-resistant” (water damage of leather strap is not guaranteed in any circumstances) The warranty is void if the watch has been damaged by accident, negligence, unauthorized service, or other factors not due to defects in materials or workmanship.
The warranty is valid only when the warranty card is properly completed, including the authorised retailer's details, date of purchase, and store stamp. Please present the warranty card when submitting your watch to an official service centre. Watches purchased from unauthorized or grey-market retailers are not covered under the warranty and may be subject to service charges.
Please refer to your warranty card for full details.

TECHNICAL QUESTIONS
How does the Luminox Light Technology (LLT) work?
Luminox Light Technology (LLT) uses tiny, self-powered micro gas light tubes housed in borosilicate glass capsules. These tubes are installed in the hands, hour markers or dial, and, where applicable, the bezel. They provide a constant glow for up to 25 years, with a 10-year illumination guarantee from the date of purchase, provided the watch is not subjected to strong shocks.
Unlike conventional luminous paint, LLT does not require an external light source to charge and does not need to be activated by pressing a button. The light tubes are safe for humans and the environment and do not consume battery power.
Learn more about Luminox Light Technology.
How accurate is my Luminox watch?
Quartz movement:
The typical tolerance of a quartz movement is between -0.5 and +0.7 seconds per day. External factors such as shocks or sudden changes in temperature may affect its accuracy.
Mechanical movement:
Accuracy depends on the movement and the wearer's habits and may vary. The average precision tolerances is between -10 and +40 seconds per day.
What does water resistance mean?
Luminox watches have a water-resistance rating of 100–500 metres, depending on the model, as indicated on the case back.
This rating is based on laboratory pressure testing and does not mean that the watch will remain water resistant indefinitely. Please note that temperature differences and external influences such as solvents, cosmetics, dust and shocks such as impact or sudden movement can significantly affect the water resistance. It is possible for the crown or crystal to be jarred without leaving a visible mark, but this can damage the movement and reduce water resistance.
It is also important to note that seals and sealing systems are affected by wear and aging. This applies, for example, to the sealing rings around the glass, around the crown and the case back.
Not all straps or bracelets are suitable for use in water. The crown and pushers should never be operated underwater, and any screw-down crown must be firmly secured before exposure to water. After use in water, especially salt water, rinse the watch with clean, fresh water, then clean and dry it thoroughly.
Do not under any circumstances open the watch yourself. We recommend having the water resistance tested at least once a year by an authorised Luminox service centre, particularly if the watch is frequently exposed to water.
We recommend the following waterproof ratings for specific activities in or near water:
- Splash water: 3 ATM / 30 metres
- Water surface activities: 5 ATM / 50 metres
- Swimming / snorkelling: 10 ATM / 100 metres
- Diving: 20 ATM / 200 metres (we recommend a screw-threaded crown)
- Deep sea diving: specific ISO 6425 tests required
Specially constructed Luminox dive watches, such as the 1500 Series, undergo more rigorous testing according to ISO 6425.
For servicing and water-resistance testing, please visit Warranty & Repair Service.
Is it normal for a watch crystal to fog up?
Luminox watches are manufactured in a clean room with controlled humidity of 45% to help prevent condensation. However, under certain circumstances condensation may occasionally form inside the watch due to natural humidity. This can happen when it is exposed to sudden changes in temperature, such as moving from hot sunlight into cold water or a cold shower.
In normal circumstances, the fog should disappear within a few minutes once the watch returns to room temperature. If the condensation does not disappear after 2–3 minutes, please send the watch to an authorized Luminox service centre. Persistent fogging may indicate damaged or aged gaskets or other issues that could affect the watch's water resistance.
For servicing, please visit Warranty & Repair Service.
How frequently should my Luminox watch be serviced?
Like any high-precision instrument, your watch should be serviced regularly to ensure optimal performance. As a general guideline, we recommend a full service every 3 to 4 years, depending on how frequently the watch is used, as well as factors such as the model, climate, and care taken by the owner.
For servicing, please visit Warranty & Repair Service.
How long does the battery in my Luminox watch last?
Battery life typically ranges from 2 to 10 years, depending on the watch model, dimensions, battery capacity, the size and weight of hands, and the energy required by the movement and its functions. For example, a chronograph generally consumes more energy than a watch displaying only the hours and minutes.
Some Luminox watches feature an end-of-life indicator. When the second hand begins moving in 4-second intervals, it is time to have the battery replaced by a Luminox-qualified watchmaker. The watch will typically continue to run for approximately 1 to 3 weeks after the indicator begins. Please note that the battery is not covered under the original warranty.
Can I wear my Luminox watch if I have a nickel allergy?
The materials used by Luminox are carefully tested to help minimise the risk of allergic reactions. If you are sensitive to stainless steel, we recommend choosing a Luminox watch made with titanium or plastic.
What type of leather is used for Luminox straps?
Luminox uses calf leather for its leather straps.
How long do Luminox leather and PU straps last?
Depending on use and wear, leather and PU straps typically last between 6 and 18 months. As straps are exposed to sweat, bacteria, dirt, water, sunlight, and other environmental factors, regular replacement is recommended for both hygiene and durability. We recommend replacing your strap at least every 18 months.
How do I use the tachymeter on my Luminox watch?
A tachymeter measures the approximate speed of a moving object or person over a defined distance.
To use it:
- Start the chronograph when the object or person begins moving.
- Stop the chronograph once the object or person has completed the defined distance.
The information you will find can be read as follows:
- The object or person needed x seconds to complete the known distance
- The tachymeter calculates and shows the speed of the object or person.

How do I maintain my Luminox watch?
To keep your Luminox watch in good condition, we recommend following these care and maintenance guidelines and having it serviced periodically at an authorized Luminox service centre.
Cleaning
Regularly rinse your watch with clean, fresh water to remove dirt, sediment, or other debris. This is especially important after exposure to salt water.
Crystal
Depending on the model, Luminox watches feature specially tempered mineral glass or sapphire crystal. Sapphire crystal is highly scratch resistant, while mineral glass is more susceptible to scratches and surface marks over time. If the crystal is cracked, chipped, or loose, have it replaced promptly, as this may affect the watch's water resistance and cause condensation.
