Luminox Partners with Lockheed Martin

Lockheed Martin, an aerospace company with over 115 000 employees worldwide and the maker of powerful and unique jets such as 117 Nighthawk Stealth Jet, have formed proprietary collaboration with Luminox since 1999. This collaboration created the Air Series after a pilot realized that the Luminox watch he was wearing could be adapted to pilots. His request to Luminox was to make a watch specifically for pilots who are carrying missions under severe and high altitudes. With the requests being backed by several other pilots and engineers, the F-117 Night Hawk 6400 series was created.

Night Hawk Series has a sapphire glass with an anti-reflective coating. This is to ensure the visibility of the watch under any conditions. Looking at the Air series, majority of the watches are in the colour jet black so as to diffuse any sun light rays up in the air. With all the requests being made a reality, the F-117 Nighthawk series were completed. In addition to improvements made, Luminox made the Air series to resemble the jets created by Lockheed. It became one of the biggest collaborations made by Luminox and it propelled them to become the leader of the military watch market. The collaboration between both parties still stood strong as the redesigned version of the F-117 Nighthawk series was released 16 years later
