What is Carbon?

Carbon is one of the most malleable and versatile element in the world. By rearranging a few atoms, you can form a new compound which makes this a non-reactive element. Carbon is not reactive towards water, acids and a poor conductor of electricity which is why Luminox has used carbon for decades as the main material for their watches and is one of the biggest manufacturer of carbon compound watches in the world. In the Master Carbon SEAL series, Luminox has reformed the carbon for their casing by using Carbon bars. Unlike any other materials, Carbon is more scratch resistant. When you scratch carbon, the surface below still remains black and remains barely visible.  Carbon also has the advantage of being light – it is 6 times lighter than stainless steel and 3 times lighter than titanium, which makes this a suitable material for outdoor adventures and sports enthusiasts. In the Master Carbon SEAL series, 40% of carbon bar is being used. Carbon bar is harder to melt due to the properties of having a bigger solid piece in the watch, in turn, this makes the Luminox Master Carbon SEAL series more heat resistant, hypoallergenic, water resistant and tougher.

This is main the reason why Luminox has been loved and had gained a cult following around the world. With the constant improvisation of their watches, they are able to adapt and create watches that suit the needs of their fans.
